Ha’Penny Bridge

As one of the city’s most famous landmarks, the Ha’Penny Bridge is entwined into the very fabric of Dublin. This view captures the iconic curved shape of the bridge as it spans the River Liffy, looking southwards to the buildings on the Quay, leading onto the merchant’s Arch into Temple Bar. Overall, this scene provides a nice narrative to the piece. The inkwork gives a rich sense of detail to the ironwork of the bridge, contrasting with the softer tones of the warm sepia washes of colour.
