Connemara Marble Tara Brooch
This antique silver plated Tara brooch is set with Connemara Marble. While Connemara Marble is from the Pre-Cambrian era and is over 600 million years old. It is found only in a remote area in the West of Ireland. It is a metamorphic rock formed when limestone was heated under pressure, producing a hard granular rock. Its unique green color symbolizes Ireland. It is said to bring serenity to those who keep it close. This brooch, made by Solvar in Dublin. The Tara brooch is a Celtic brooch of around 700 AD and considered to be the most impressive of over 50 brooches to have been discovered!
